Health insurances in Spain are annual, and it's important, before asking this question, to know whether our current insurance is a collective policy from a previous company or a private one.
If we have insurance from a previous company, we must notify the former company to process the cancellation of the insurance, as we no longer have an employment relationship with the policyholder, in order to join the new collective. It's important to request the cancellation for the same day the insurance provided by Cobee begins.
If it's a private policy, the cancellation should be done as specified by the insurer. In such cases, we need to inform them one month before the policy expires, stating that we do not wish to continue, and at that moment, request the activation of the policy through the Cobee App. Cobee cannot request the cancellation in this scenario as it does not manage private policies.
However, if the private policy is with the same insurer that our company offers, we can request the cancellation through Cobee and then proceed to cancel the private policy due to duplication. These are the only cases in which insurers can process cancellations before the policy's expiration date.
