We answer questions about Cobee's impact on your income tax return.
When you receive your paycheck every month, you will see that it contains a series of tax withholdings, that is, those concepts that are deducted from your paycheck as IRPF (Personal Income Tax). These withholdings are calculated on the total of your gross annual salary.
The withholding data, your salary and the consumption made through Cobee, are declared by your company to the Treasury on a regular basis.
So, don't worry, it is already available in the draft when the tax return filing period arrives: you don't have to enter it manually or make any modifications.
Flexible Remuneration in the tax return
Commonly, flexible remuneration is already taken into account in the draft income tax return. The monetary remuneration (the first figure referring to our income from work) is calculated by subtracting from your salary the amount spent on flexible remuneration, which is already exempt from income tax.
For example, if an employee earns 50.000€ per year and has consumed 2.580,95€ in Cobee throughout the year, in his declaration he will see the following:
Concept | Amount |
Monetary remuneration | 47.419,05 |
Retention | 10.328,94 |
Remuneration in kind | 0,00 |
Valuation | 0,00 |
Taxable income | 0,00 |
Taxable income on account | 0,00 |
Deductible expenses | 3.102,54 |
Will it have an effect on the result of the tax return?
The tax withholdings made month by month are calculated on the total of your gross annual salary.
By using Cobee, we have lowered our taxable income each month and therefore the withholdings made for the year will most likely have been higher than they should have been.
Although the result is subject to many factors, it is more likely that the return will be a refund.
Why does the exact figure not appear in the draft?
To avoid confusion, and so that it can be declared as income, the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT) does not directly show your consumption in the draft.
If I make a change in my earned income, how will it affect Cobee's consumption?
A change in earned income will not directly affect Cobee consumption, although a change in taxable income may affect the total result of the return.
