The accumulation of your balance allows you to accumulate the remaining money to be consumed in the following months in the Food and Transport benefits.
It is activated from the Food and Transport benefits, within the "Do you want to accumulate credit?" section with a selector that you must activate.
Please note:
- For Meals and Transport only.
- The maximum amount is the benefit limit (220€ in the case of Meals and 136,36€ in the case of Transport).
- The month in which you accumulate it appears on your pay slip as a consumption.
- The accumulated balance does not expire.
- You can activate it for one month and deactivate it for another. However, if there has already been accumulation, deactivating the option does not allow you to return the accumulated amount.
| In the case of accumulation, the balance will remain on your card to be used only for the Meals or Transport benefit. Once accumulated, this action cannot be undone. |
Let's see an example:
| 👩🏻 Maria has a limit of €220 on Food. Imagine that this month she spends €80 and she has the accumulate option activated. The amount she accumulates this month will be £140 (£220 - £80 = £140), which will be added to the amount available for Food next month. So next month she will have €360 to spend (€220 + €140 = €360). On her pay slip this month, Maria will see €220 spent on the Food benefit. |
Where does the accumulated amount come from?
How the accrual works depends on how this benefit is paid out in your case.
Paid from your salary
Each month, any amount you have not spent of the £220 is paid onto your Cobee's card to be spent the following month. In other words, every month you deduct €220 exempt from income tax, what you have consumed and the remaining amount consumed is accumulated.
| If you accumulate every month, when the last month (December) arrives, you will not be able to accumulate any more because you will have reached the exempt limit, both in Food and Transport, €2,420 and €1,500, respectively. |
Paid from your bag
Each month, the entire purse amount is accumulated for use the following month. The money is given to you on your Cobee's card to be spent on Food or Transport.
Shared payment
If you can pay the benefit from both your salary and your purse, then the amounts will accumulate up to 220€ in the case of Food and 136,36€ in the case of Transport.
For example
| Imagine you are given a bag of €150 for Food only, there is still €70 left to reach €220 which is paid out of your salary. If you consumed €120 one month, then the remaining €30 of the bag (€150 - €120 = €30) and the remaining €70 of your salary would be accumulated on the card. |
